Chicken and Apple with Turmeric - 4 oz

I've been wanting to incorporate turmeric into my treats for the anti-inflammatory benefit but was hesitant to do so because of the unpleasant taste. I decided to add it with the Fuji apple in hopes of the sweetness of the apple covering up the turmeric taste. My picky chihuahuas approved! Turmeric is best absorbed with some fat and the coconut oil is an excellent way to make sure it's well absorbed.

With all the dogs I've had over the years, they all developed tumors of some sort as they got older. Turmeric and certain mushrooms, which are included in the mushroom blend I use, are known to prevent tumors or slow their growth.

Ingredients:
Organic USDA Grade A chicken breasts (human grade), with every bit of fat trimmed, from chickens that are hatched, raised and harvested in the USA, organic Fuji apples (core, stem and seeds removed), organic coconut oil (human grade), turmeric powder (human grade), Knox gelatin (human grade), mushroom blend for dogs or cats and prebiotic for dogs or cats.

These ingredients are minimally processed and dried at a temperature no higher than 160 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve as much of the nutrients as possible. These treats are slightly chewy. The size of the chips are approximately 5/8" x 3/4". Contact me within 24 hours of placing your order if you would like me to leave the treats in strips. Unless specified, they will be cut into chips.

Storage:
Following the storage instructions below will help to preserve the texture and color of the treats. I do not use any preservatives or stabilizers and the treats will become darker with time, if not refrigerated.

1 – 2 weeks
Store in a cool, dry location in the original packaging or in your own container. Airtight containers will help preserve the smell of the treats best.

2 weeks – 2 months
Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

2 months or more
Store in an airtight container in the freezer. Bring to room temperature in the airtight container before opening. It will be less crunchy (if you have a crunchy treat) if you open the container before it comes to room temperature.
